    The idea to start and run a festival in Torsåker in beautiful county Gästrikland was born by Lars Blom, Leif Sunnebrandt, Johnny &#;Acke&#; Larsson and Tommy Järström. For many years, the festival was at Gammelgården, by the beautiful “Lummerbacken” with views over Torsåker and cow pastures framed by birch and fir forest. Over time, the festival grew larger and was moved down to the village and Torsåker IP and then found its place at Tors Loge.

    Today, enthusiasts who are passionate about the music and the place run the festival. The association is non-profit, so is the time, energy and love put into its implementation. Everything from planning, organizing, to building the festival area. Cooperation is an important key and thanks to the cooperation we have with the associations and businesses in our fine municipality, we are able to carry out the festival every year. A good example is the collaboration with Torsåker IF, which today is responsible for the popular camping site at the sports ground

    Torsåkers socken i Gästrikland ingår sedan i Hofors kommun och motsvarar från Torsåkers distrikt.

    Socknens areal är ,85 kvadratkilometer,varv ,30 land.[1] År fanns här 2&#; invånare.[2] Tätorten och kyrkbyn Torsåker med Torsåkers kyrka ligger i denna socken.

    Administrativ historik

    Torsåkers socken har medeltida ursprung.

    Vid kommunreformen övergick socknens ansvar för de kyrkliga frågorna till Torsåkers församling och för de borgerliga frågorna bildades Torsåkers landskommun. Ur församlingen utbröts Hofors församling och ur landskommunen utbröts Hofors landskommun Landskommunen ingår sedan i Hofors kommun.[2]

    1 januari inrättades distriktetTorsåker, med samma omfattning som församlingen hade /

    Socknen har tillhört fögderier, tingslag och domsagor enligt vad som beskrivs i artikeln Gästrikland. De indelta soldaterna tillhörde Hälsinge regemente, Fernebo kompani.[3]

    Geografi

    Torsåkers socken ligger kring Hoån och Hästboån. Socknen har odingsbygd kring åarna och kuperad sjörik skogsbygd däromkring.[4][5][1]
