Röda Sten Konsthall[1][2] is a contemporary art center located in the district of Majorna under Älvsborg Bridge in Gothenburg, Sweden. Konsthall roughly translates to "Art Gallery" however the organization is much more similar to a German Kunsthalle. Röda Sten Konsthall is an exhibition space for a diverse range of cultural events and art exhibitions,[3][4] is home to Gothenburg's only legal graffiti wall "Draken"[5][6][7] and hosts a rich program of educational activities[8] for all ages.
RSK presents an exhibition program of contemporary art and has collaborated with Swedish and international artists such as Jeremy Deller, Carsten Höller, Natalie Djurberg/Hans Berg, Ylva Ogland, Phil Collins, and Rachel Maclean, among many others,[3][9] is home to the Göteborg International Biennial for Contemporary Art,[10] collaborates with Valand Academy to exhibit the photography program's degree show,[11] hosts choral and opera performances at the beginning of each year[12] and since has held a design and craft

The Area

The name Röda Sten (Red Stone) comes from a mythical stone painted in red, which is located on the shore west of the building. There are several theories about the stone: maybe it is a navigation mark, an old landmark, or was it stained red with blood from a Swedish soldier during a fight with the Danes?
